CENTCOM stated that the US military aimed to impose heavy costs on Iran for targeting and attacking commercial shipping in an international waterway. The command emphasized that the Iranian aggression was unwarranted, dangerous, and a violation of the ceasefire.

No casualties or damage were immediately reported following the explosions in Iran.
