Manila: Generally fair weather will continue to prevail across the country, with isolated rain showers expected in some areas due to the "weak" southwest monsoon or habagat, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Monday. According to Philippines News Agency, in its 5 a.m. advisory, the weather bureau indicated that the habagat will affect several regions including Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, and Lanao del Norte. The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. Weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio of PAGASA noted that the southwest monsoon is forecast to intensify on Wednesday. The entire country is expected to experience light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters, which should ease any concerns related to severe weather conditions.
