Lucena city: One hundred families in Barangay Ibabang Iyam, Lucena City, on Tuesday received Certificates of Entitlement (COEs), concluding more than two decades of waiting for land tenure under Presidential Proclamation No. 436. President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling led the awarding of the certificates under the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.
According to Philippines News Agency, Presidential Proclamation No. 436, issued in 2003, reserved a 4-hectare former airfield in the village for government facilities and housing for government employees and urban poor families. The latest distribution brings the total number of families nationwide that have secured land tenure through the Expanded 4PH Program's implementation of various presidential proclamations to 684.
"Sa ilalim ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. ay isinusulong natin ang Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program. Malinaw ang ating direksyon-hindi lamang magpatayo ng mga bagong pabahay, kundi palawakin din ang seguridad sa paninirahan ng mga pamilyang matagal nang naghihintay sa ilalim ng mga Presidential Proclamation (Under the administration of President Marcos Jr., we are advancing the Expanded National Housing for the Filipino Program. Our direction is clear - not only to build new housing, but also to expand housing security for families who have long been waiting under presidential proclamations)," Aliling said.
The 100 new beneficiaries in Lucena add to the 185 families previously awarded under the same proclamation. Since the resumption of land distribution under presidential proclamations, the DHSUD has awarded Certificates of Lot Award to 684 families.
The beneficiaries include 228 families under Presidential Proclamation No. 550 in Los Ba±os, Laguna; 213 under Presidential Proclamation No. 1538 in Jaro, Iloilo City; 185 under Proclamation No. 436 in Lucena City; and 58 under Presidential Proclamation No. 574 in Narra, Palawan. Aliling stated that the DHSUD and its key shelter agencies will continue implementing programs that provide secure, safe, and affordable housing for more Filipinos.
