Manila: The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) recorded a total of 235 arrests within a 24-hour period between Friday and Saturday.
According to Philippines News Agency, NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin announced that the arrests occurred from 6 a.m. on August 29 to 5:59 a.m. on August 30. The consolidated report highlights the NCRPO's focused enforcement operations against illegal activities such as drugs, gambling, and violations of local ordinances.
Among those arrested, 34 individuals were involved in drug-related operations, while 63 were apprehended for illegal gambling. The NCRPO also detained 81 wanted persons, including nine labeled as Most Wanted, 15 as More Wanted, and 57 Other Wanted Persons. Additionally, five suspects were captured in operations targeting loose firearms.
A further 52 offenders were arrested through immediate police response and for other various violations, showing the NCRPO's commitment to maintaining law and order in the region.
