3 Nabbed, P8.7-M Shabu Seized in Tarlac, Cebu Ops: PDEG

Tarlac: Three suspects, including two high-value individuals (HVIs), were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Tarlac and Cebu, with authorities confiscating PHP8.7 million worth of suspected shabu.

According to Philippines News Agency, the operations were conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG), led by Brig. Gen. Edwin Quilates, resulting in significant drug seizures.

In Tarlac, suspect alias Jervey, 39, was apprehended during a buy-bust operation around 1 a.m. in Brgy. San Bartolome, Concepcion. The operation yielded 1,100 grams of suspected shabu, valued at over PHP7.4 million. The suspect was taken to the Concepcion Municipal Police Station for documentation and is facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. The confiscated drugs are set to undergo laboratory examination at the Tarlac Provincial Forensic Unit.

Meanwhile, a separate operation in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City, led to the arrest of two HVIs identified as Jack and Alvin. The operation, conducted around 2:17 a.m., resulted in the seizure of 205 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP1.3 million. The evidence will be examined at Regional Forensic 7, Sudlon, Brgy. Lahug, Cebu City. The suspects are under police custody and are also facing charges under the same act.

Brig. Gen. Quilates commended the operatives and partners involved in these operations, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in combating the drug problem. He acknowledged the dedication and shared determination of the PDEG operatives in addressing the drug threat in the country.
