8,402 Job Openings Available in Cavite and Laguna: Malaca±ang Announces Opportunities for Jobseekers

Cavite: Around 8,402 job openings remain available in the provinces of Cavite and Laguna, as announced by Malaca±ang on Wednesday. In a recent Palace press briefing, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro emphasized that jobseekers still have the opportunity to apply for these vacant positions, which were highlighted during the recent job fair held in Dasmari±as, Cavite and Bi±an, Laguna.

According to Philippines News Agency, Castro specified that there are still 4,120 jobs available in Dasmari±as and 4,282 in Bi±an. Despite the high number of openings, only 63 applicants in Dasmari±as and 45 in Bi±an were hired on the spot during the government-organized job fairs.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. spearheaded the 'Trabaho at Serbisyong Pangkalusugan sa Bagong Pilipinas' job and health fair in these provinces last week. In February, he committed to expanding job fairs nationwide to increase employment opportunities, especially for beneficiaries of programs like the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.

During the event in Laguna, Marcos expressed his satisfaction with the number of jobseekers hired on the spot, describing it as the 'most successful' job fair to date. The Department of Labor and Employment is working collaboratively with various government agencies and the private sector to conduct job fairs across the nation, aiming to sustain employment gains post-pandemic and drive economic transformation.

In Metro Manila, upcoming job fairs are scheduled in Quezon City, Makati, Pasay, Las Pi±as, Manila, and Valenzuela, running until March 31. The country's employment rate reached 95.7 percent in January 2025, showing a slight improvement from 95.5 percent in the same period last year, as reported by the Philippine Statistics Authority's latest data. This translates to approximately 48.49 million Filipinos being employed in January 2025, an increase from 45.90 million in January 2024 and 48.16 million in October 2024.
