Albay Provides 900 Sacks of Rice to Local Government Units

Albay: The provincial government of Albay distributed 900 sacks of rice to 18 local government units (LGUs) affected by recent weather disturbances. Each LGU received 50 sacks of rice, with each sack weighing 50 kg. The distribution took place through pick-ups at NFA warehouses in Legazpi and Tabaco, as well as deliveries by trucks.

According to Philippines News Agency, the LGUs of Tiwi, Malinao, Tabaco City, Malilipot, Sto. Domingo, Bacacay, Legazpi, Daraga, Camalig, Guinobatan, Oas, Ligao, and Pio Duran received their 50 sacks last week to augment their ongoing relief operations. Jovellar and Libon were assisted on July 30, while the remaining 150 sacks will be turned over to the municipalities of Rapu-Rapu, Manito, and Polangui this week.

In a statement, Albay Governor Noel Rosal emphasized that these supplies are part of the province's support for the LGUs' relief efforts. He noted that the supply is intended to assist the LGUs, which already have prepositioned supplies and allocated funds as part of their disaster management strategies.
