Albay Town Grants Water Bill Waiver to Ease Recovery from Calamities

Oas: The municipality of Oas in Albay province has approved a 50 percent waiver on water bills for residential consumers of the Oas Water System (OWS) for November and December. In a statement, Oas Mayor John Kenneth Trinidad said the initiative is part of the local government's ongoing assistance to households recovering from recent calamities.

According to Philippines News Agency, the two-month waiver aims to alleviate the financial burden of affected residents, allowing families to allocate more resources to basic needs and the rebuilding of their livelihood. Trinidad thanked the Sangguniang Bayan, under Vice Mayor Domingo Escoto Jr. and Finance Committee Chair Robert Arevalo, for the measure that was adopted through a resolution.

Despite the reduction in charges, OWS remains on track to meet its revenue target for 2025. The strong performance from January to October, along with projected year-end income, is expected to sustain the operations of the water system. Residents seeking clarification regarding billing adjustments are advised to contact the OWS office during office hours.
