Antique National School Extends Enrollment Period to July

Antique: Antique National School (ANS), the largest secondary school in the province of Antique by student population, will continue to accept late enrollees until July. ANS Principal IV Roger Jomolo has encouraged parents to take advantage of this opportunity to provide their children with free education.

According to Philippines News Agency, Jomolo emphasized the importance of enrollment in an interview on Tuesday. He stated that next week, school officials would assess the institution's capacity to decide the final cutoff date for enrollment in July. The school currently operates with 150 classrooms and 45 workshops or laboratories, supported by a staff of 215 teaching personnel for junior high school, 83 for senior high school, and 33 non-teaching staff members.

Jomolo also highlighted the contributions of the Security Bank Foundation (SBF), which is funding the construction of eight new classrooms expected to be completed by October. These new facilities will prioritize Grades 8-9 learners currently using makeshift classrooms. Despite the ongoing construction, ANS still requires an additional 45 classrooms to accommodate approximately 16,000 students.

The school has communicated its needs to the Department of Education's central office and is awaiting further plans to address the shortage of classrooms.
