KAPIT, An armed forces personnel died after being shot by a civilian suspected of hunting in the forest area of Km 8, Jalan Balak Multiplus, Song near here early this morning. Song district police chief DSP Rowney Michael Jalak said the victim, Petrus Linggi Liman, 29, suffered severe injuries to his left thigh and hip while he was on a hammock during tactical training in the forest area. 'The victim was rushed to Kapit Hospital for immediate treatment but was confirmed dead at 7.43 pm by medical officers,' he said when contacted by Bernama today. He added that the police had received a call about the incident at around 2.45 am. 'We have yet to identify the suspect. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code and we are tracking the suspect down. The autopsy on the victim is scheduled to take place tomorrow at Kapit Hospital,' he said.
