Bacolod Cops Seize P153-M Illegal Drugs, Nab 605 in 10-Month Operation

Bacolod: The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) reported the seizure of PHP153.546 million in illegal drugs over a period of 10 months.

According to Philippines News Agency, a summary report from the BCPO revealed that 474 anti-illegal drug operations conducted from July 23, 2024, to May 22, 2025, resulted in the confiscation of 22,535 grams of shabu valued at PHP153.24 million. Additionally, 2,551 grams of marijuana worth PHP306,186 were seized.

The operations led to the arrest of 605 individuals, comprising 434 pushers, 167 users, and four minors. BCPO Director Col. Joeresty Coronica stated that these figures underscore the persistent efforts of the police to combat illegal activity and maintain peace and order in Bacolod City.

Recent operations included the confiscation of 4.6 kilograms of shabu valued at approximately PHP31.28 million and the arrest of three suspects during three buy-bust operations on May 19. Col. Coronica recognized the contributions of the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council in the ongoing fight against the spread of illegal drugs.

He also expressed support for establishing an anti-drug education program to ensure the campaign's sustainability.
