Cotabato city: All government offices, ministries, and bureaus in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) have initiated energy conservation protocols, including a shift to a four-day on-site work arrangement, officials announced.

According to Philippines News Agency, Bangsamoro Interim Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua issued a memorandum circular directing all personnel to adopt the new schedule. This plan accommodates religious observances during Ramadan while ensuring productivity and the delivery of government services.

For Muslim officials and employees in BARMM observing Ramadan, the on-site work schedule runs from Monday to Thursday, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., without a noon break. Employees not observing the fast are required to work on-site from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a one-hour break.

A one-day work-from-home arrangement will be assigned by office heads to maintain adequate on-site staffing.

Macacua stated that following the conclusion of Ramadan, or Eid'l Fitr on March 18, all offices will transition to a 40-hour compressed work week, spanning four working days.

Employees reporting on-site must adhere to attendance monitoring policies, while those working from home are required to use authorized digital time-logging platforms.

Offices responsible for health, emergency, frontline, regulatory, and other essential services must ensure sufficient personnel remain physically present or immediately available at all times to guarantee uninterrupted service delivery to the Bangsamoro.
