BCDA Explores Partnership with South Korean Firms for Key Development Projects

Manila: The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) is pursuing collaboration with two South Korean companies for significant projects in New Clark City, Tarlac, and Poro Point, La Union. These properties are under the government-owned corporation's jurisdiction.

According to Philippines News Agency, BCDA's president and CEO Joshua Bingcang, along with officer-in-charge senior vice president Mark Torres, recently held discussions with Moon Engineering Co. Ltd. and Jin Systems Co. Ltd. Moon Engineering, an engineering and consulting firm, is interested in conducting a feasibility study to enhance the San Fernando Airport within the Poro Point Freeport Zone. This airport, managed by Poro Point Management Corp., currently handles only chartered flights and flying schools due to its limited operational capacity. The proposed upgrades aim to accommodate more commercial flights, bolstering San Fernando Airport's role as a key transport hub in northern Luzon.

Meanwhile, Jin Systems is keen on partnering with BCDA to implement and test smart mobility solutions in New Clark City. This initiative is part of the 2025 K-City Network Smart Solution Demonstration Project. Jin Systems' technology aligns with BCDA's goal of transforming the 9,450-hectare New Clark City into a smart, sustainable, and green metropolis in Central Luzon.

BCDA President Bingcang expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration with South Korean firms, recognizing their leadership in infrastructure and smart city development. He noted that these potential partnerships could significantly advance infrastructure and introduce cutting-edge technologies in New Clark City and Poro Point.
