Bersamin’s Niece Calls for Unity Among Abra Officials

Bangued: Newly sworn-in Vice Governor Ana Marie Bersamin called on local officials to set aside political divisions and work together for the betterment of the province and its people. "We will start working as one for the progress of our province and the Abrenos," Bersamin said in a media interview on Wednesday.

According to Philippines News Agency, Ana Marie, niece of Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, emphasized the importance of cooperation, regardless of political affiliation, and urged her fellow officials to serve without being hindered by party lines. A member of the Progreso group which secured most provincial and municipal seats in the recent elections, the vice governor extended a gesture of unity during the oath-taking of Penarrubia municipal officials.

"I took the privilege to invite here our two board members even if they are not with our group because in the province, we will work as one, not as individuals, and not as partymates but one for the people of Abra." She stressed that the focus should now shift to the interests of the constituents.

Her remarks echoed those of the Executive Secretary, who officiated the oath-taking on Monday, where he outlined four key priorities for the province: good governance, healthcare, basic education, and food security.
