Bicol Police Seize P3.4-M Shabu in Virac Arrest

Virac: Police arrested a high-value suspect and seized shabu drugs worth PHP3.4 million during a service of warrant of arrest in Virac, Catanduanes on Monday. In an interview on Tuesday, Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5), identified the suspect as alias 'Jer,' 44, and a resident of Virac.

According to Philippines News Agency, operatives from the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit, Police Intelligence Unit, and Virac Municipal Police Station executed the search warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. Seized during the operation were 91 pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 500 grams, with an estimated value of PHP3.4 million, along with other paraphernalia.

Calubaquib mentioned that the marking and inventory of the seized items were conducted in the presence of the suspect and the required witnesses. The suspect and the confiscated evidence were subsequently brought to the Virac Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and disposition.
