Two Low-Pressure Areas Unlikely to Impact Philippines Weather: PAGASA

Manila: The weather bureau announced on Tuesday that it is currently monitoring two low-pressure areas (LPAs), though neither is expected to impact the country's weather conditions significantly.

According to Philippines News Agency, one of the LPAs is the former Tropical Depression Caloy, which remains within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). "We don't expect it to redevelop into a tropical cyclone. It is also unlikely to cause a direct effect on the weather," explained Veronica Torres, a weather specialist from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

The second LPA is situated 1,690 kilometers east of northeastern Mindanao, outside of PAR as of 2 a.m. This system is also not anticipated to affect the weather and is unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone, according to Torres.

In addition to the update on the LPAs, PAGASA has noted that the prevailing easterlies will bring generally fair weather across the archipelago. However, the country may experience isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA further stated that the entire archipelago will encounter light to moderate winds and slight to moderate sea conditions.
