Biz Groups Assured of Faster Government Action on Ease of Doing Business

Manila: Cabinet Secretary Benjamin 'Benhur' Abalos Jr. has assured business leaders that the government will further strengthen the implementation of the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Act to accelerate government services and attract more investments. Meeting with leaders of major business organizations, Abalos emphasized the commitment of the Office of the Cabinet Secretary (OCS) to addressing regulatory bottlenecks by coordinating directly with concerned government agencies.

According to Philippines News Agency, Abalos expressed that the President has declared Malaca±ang open to everyone, highlighting the government's openness to collaboration. He stated that the OCS acts as a bridge between the government and the private sector, ensuring that business concerns are promptly addressed by relevant agencies. The business leaders presented proposals aimed at improving government processes, facilitating investments, and enhancing public-private sector collaboration.

Abalos also underlined the importance of practical, time-bound solutions while balancing economic development, environmental protection, and public welfare in government decision-making. The meeting was attended by representatives from various organizations, including the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Philippine Exporters Confederation Inc., and others.
