Manila: The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) stated its readiness to assume custody of former Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo, along with other individuals court-ordered for commitment, ensuring that preparations are complete for their immediate admission.

According to Philippines News Agency, BuCor Director General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr. confirmed that security enhancements are underway at the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City. This facility is set to receive Guo following her life imprisonment sentence by a Pasig Regional Trial Court for qualified trafficking.

CIW Corrections Technical Superintendent Marjorie Ann Sanidad briefed Catapang on the deployment of additional Corrections Emergency Response Teams to maintain peace and order within the facility. Furthermore, all personnel have been placed on-call status as of Thursday.

Sanidad outlined the standard operating procedures that will be followed upon Guo's commitment to CIW. She will be received by a designated receiving officer at the Reception and Diagnostic Center (RDC), where her documents and belongings will be verified prior to a five-day quarantine.

Following quarantine, Guo will undergo a medical examination before being transferred to the RDC regular dormitory for a 55-day period of orientation, diagnostics, and qualification.

The completion of the 60-day process will see Guo moved to her designated regular dormitory at the Maximum Security Camp. Catapang emphasized the importance of the 55-day assessment period, as it plays a critical role in identifying Guo's psychological and physical needs. This assessment will aid the institution in developing an individualized treatment or program for her.
