CAAP Collaborates with EU Aviation Experts for Philippine Master Plan

Manila: The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has enlisted the expertise of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to assist in the development of a comprehensive Civil Aviation Master Plan (CAMP). This initiative aims to enhance the aviation infrastructure and capabilities of the Philippines.

According to Philippines News Agency, CAAP has engaged eight aviation experts from EASA to collaborate on the master plan, which will be specifically tailored for the Philippines. Bea Bernardo, CAAP's Information Officer, mentioned that the organization is currently in the early stages of crafting this plan. The EASA experts are expected to work with CAAP over a six-month period, after which they will submit a report on their findings and recommendations.

Bernardo also noted that while discussions are ongoing, the actual drafting and completion timeline of the master plan remains under consideration. In a statement, CAAP emphasized that the CAMP is intended to serve as a strategic framework to address significant challenges in the Philippine aviation sector, while also leveraging opportunities for growth and innovation.

From January 21 to 23, EASA facilitated high-level sessions with CAAP and other stakeholders to discuss the plan's strategic direction. CAAP expressed its ambition to strengthen the country's aviation infrastructure and capabilities, with the ultimate goal of positioning the Philippines as a leading hub for safe, efficient, and sustainable air transport within the ASEAN region.
