Manila: The Marcos administration's anti-drug campaign has so far netted PHP52.50 billion worth of narcotics and arrested 127,155 drug suspects, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported on Wednesday.
According to Philippines News Agency, from July 2022 to Dec. 31, 2024, authorities have seized 6,764.56 kg of shabu, 80.76 kg of cocaine, 120,553 pieces of ecstasy tablets, and 6,247.70 kg of marijuana. The PDEA also reported conducting 94,050 operations across the country during this period, during which 8,138 high-value targets were among those arrested.
A total of 1,266 drug dens and two clandestine shabu laboratories were dismantled during the same period. Meanwhile, 29,390 out of 42,000 villages have been declared "drug-cleared," while 6,113 are in the process of being cleared.
During his third State of the Nation Address in July, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. pledged to continue the bloodless anti-narcotics drive, emphasizing that extermination is not a part of his administration's campaign.
