Camiguin: The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) has partnered with the provincial government of Camiguin to launch a Satellite Office and the Provincial One-Stop Shop, reinforcing the island province's leadership in digital governance and business-friendly reforms.
According to Philippines News Agency, ARTA Director General Ernesto Perez visited the island province for the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement. He emphasized that the satellite desk will enhance communication between government agencies and provincial offices, bringing the agency closer to the public. "Camiguin also made history by being the first province in the Philippines to achieve full electronic business one-stop shop," Perez stated during the launch, highlighting the province's pioneering efforts in streamlining bureaucratic processes.
The collaboration between ARTA and Camiguin is part of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s initiative to implement the Ease of Doing Business Law. The newly established Provincial One-Stop Shop aims to integrate government services, simplifying the process for residents and business owners to obtain permits and complete applications more efficiently.
Camiguin's journey to becoming the first fully eBOSS-compliant province began in August 2024. ARTA recognized all five municipalities-Mambajao, Catarman, Sagay, Mahinog, and Guinsiliban-for successfully implementing the Electronic Business One-Stop Shop system. Governor Xavier Jesus Romualdo, who accepted ARTA's commendation on behalf of the province, expressed Camiguin's commitment to digital transformation to eliminate bureaucratic inefficiencies and support business investment.
In February 2025, the Department of Information and Communications Technology praised Camiguin for its integration with the eGovPH mobile app and the eLGU system, which streamlines business registration, tax payments, and other government transactions. ARTA's nationwide campaign for eBOSS compliance has seen 127 out of 1,642 LGUs fully comply as of December 2025. Under Republic Act 12254, all LGUs must operationalize their eBOSS platforms by Oct. 31, 2026, with enforcement beginning Nov. 1.
