Butuan city: The Police Regional Office in the Caraga Region (PRO-13) has reported a crime clearance efficiency rate of 98.9 percent for the first half of 2025. This achievement comes as the region recorded 4,493 crimes from January to June, which included 2,561 incidents under the Peace and Order Indicator (POI) and 1,932 incidents under the Public Safety Indicator (PSI).
According to Philippines News Agency, Maj. Jennifer Omiter, the PRO-13 information office chief, highlighted in an interview that despite the volume of cases, the office maintained a high crime clearance efficiency rate. The POI category, which includes both index and non-index crimes, saw a decrease to 2,561 cases from 2,990 in the same period the previous year. Conversely, the PSI, comprising vehicular incidents, experienced a slight increase with 1,932 cases, up from 1,853 cases in the first half of 2024.
Of the total incidents reported, 1,547 cases were cleared, and 3,943 cases were solved. Omiter clarified that "cleared cases" refer to those where suspects or persons of interest have been identified but not yet brought to court, whereas "solved cases" are those that have been formally filed in court.
