Casuga Clinches ICTSI Junior PGT Championship Title by One Stroke

Cavinti: Jacob Casuga secured victory in the boys' 11-14 division at the ICTSI Junior PGT Championship, edging out Vito Sarines by a single stroke at the Caliraya Springs Golf Club in Cavinti, Laguna.

According to Philippines News Agency, Casuga finished with a score of 152, while Sarines, who previously triumphed at Sherwood Hills, concluded in second place with a score of 153. Ryuichi Tao claimed the third spot with a score of 156. Casuga expressed his delight, stating, "My short game and putting saved me. This win means everything because it proves I can keep getting better," marking an end to his streak of three consecutive third-place finishes in the Luzon series of the nationwide circuit organized by Pilipinas Golf Tournaments, Inc.

Meanwhile, in the girls' 11-14 division, Vito's sister, Mona Sarines, dominated the field, winning by nine shots. Kendra Garingalao finished in second place, with Mona's twin sister, Lisa, securing third place. The 13-year-old Mona shared, "My putting and second shots were on all week. I'm grateful - I proved to myself I can shoot under par after all the hard work."

In the 7-10 category, Winter Serapio emerged victorious in the girls' division with a score of 148, while Zach Guico claimed the boys' title, marking his third win in four legs. Guico reflected on his performance, saying, "I just stay calm. When I hit a bad shot, I remind myself to recover."
