Christmas and New Year Celebrations in Davao City Pass Without Incident

DAVAO CITY: The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) reported a peaceful and incident-free Christmas and New Year celebration, marking a successful end to the month-long Pasko Fiesta 2024.

According to Philippines News Agency, Col. Hansel Marantan, acting director of the DCPO, highlighted the city's secure atmosphere during the holiday season, with no incidents reported. The DCPO deployed over 26,000 personnel across the city to ensure the safety and security of numerous events and gatherings, contributing to a joyful holiday experience for residents and visitors alike.

Col. Marantan expressed gratitude to the dedicated personnel of the DCPO and the local security and safety clusters for their collaborative efforts. Their commitment was instrumental in achieving zero incidents of firecracker-related accidents and indiscriminate firing during the festivities. He attributed this success to improved law enforcement initiatives and effective public safety operations throughout the city.
