Iloilo city: Iloilo City Mayor Raisa Tre±as expressed confidence in Secretary Vince Dizon's capacity to deliver results following his appointment as head of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). Tre±as voiced her support for President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s decision during a media interview on Monday, highlighting Dizon's work ethic and promptness.
According to Philippines News Agency, Tre±as recalled Dizon's tenure at the Department of Transportation (DOTr), noting his responsiveness to concerns and his commitment to providing timely solutions. She cited his proactive approach to improving local airport services and his effective leadership during the Covid-19 pandemic as evidence of his capabilities.
The mayor also expressed her trust in Dizon's ability to address coordination issues with District Engineer Roy Pacanan at the Iloilo City District Engineering Office. These issues have been affecting project implementation in the city.
Dizon assumed the role following the resignation of Manuel Bonoan, who stepped down amid allegations of irregularities in flood control projects. He was officially sworn in by President Marcos on Monday.
