Iloilo city: The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) carried out a significant crackdown on illegal drugs in May, seizing suspected shabu valued at PHP12.69 million and arresting 69 individuals across 61 operations.
According to Philippines News Agency, the ICPO reported confiscating approximately 1.86 kg of suspected shabu during the month. The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) played a crucial role, seizing over a kilogram valued at PHP7.34 million and apprehending 10 suspects. Among those arrested, 19 were identified as high-value individuals, while 50 were classified as street-level operatives.
ICPO Director Col. Wilbert Parilla credited the successful operations to the robust partnership with the community. He emphasized the importance of public support in their ongoing efforts to combat illegal drugs, urging citizens to continue backing their campaign to rid communities of drug-related issues.
In a separate statement, Parilla mentioned that drug cases in Iloilo City remain under control due to proactive measures. He highlighted the focus on targeting high-value individuals, with the CDEU leading these initiatives.
