San jose de buenavista: The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is urging voters to beat the May 18 deadline for registration for the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE). San Jose de Buenavista Election Officer lawyer Johnna Catilo emphasized the importance of registering before the deadline, highlighting that the satellite registration at Robinsons Place Antique, which began on May 5, will conclude on May 18.

According to Philippines News Agency, Catilo encouraged individuals interested in voter registration, transfer, correction of entries, or the Register Anywhere Program (RAP) to visit the satellite registration center at Robinsons Place. The center remains accessible until May 18, even though staff are on a work-from-home arrangement every Monday.

In addition, 48 individuals deprived of liberty were served at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in San Jose de Buenavista on May 8, with two applying for reactivation and the remainder being new voters or transferees. During the first quarter of this year, Comelec received 1,567 applications for new registration, reactivation, and RAP, all of which were approved during the Election Regulatory Board hearing on April 21-22. San Jose de Buenavista now has 39,452 registered voters.

Applicants are reminded to bring necessary documents, such as a government-issued ID with an address, a phone bill, or a lease contract for new applicants or transferees. For those correcting entries, an original and photocopy of the marriage contract is required. An affidavit is available at the Comelec office for those lacking documentation.
