Naga City: The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) reported on Wednesday the arrest of a high-value individual and the seizure of 600 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP4.08 million. PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon stated that the suspect, known by the alias Jay, from Pamplona, Camarines Sur, was apprehended during a buy-bust operation conducted along Diversion Road, Barangay Concepcion Peque±a, Naga City, on Tuesday evening.
According to Philippines News Agency, the contraband was discovered inside 11 plastic bags and three heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets. Brig. Gen. Dizon emphasized that the arrest represents a significant success in the intensified anti-drug campaign of PRO-5, which aims to dismantle drug networks in the region and curb the spread of narcotics.
The operation was executed by Naga City Police Station 2 (PS2) in collaboration with Police Station 6, the City Police Drug Enforcement Unit (CPDEU), and the Naga City Intelligence Unit (CIU), with close coordination from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). Brig. Gen. Dizon assured the public of their commitment to disrupting and dismantling drug syndicates in the region. He highlighted the importance of educating and empowering communities to resist the temptation of illegal substances.
