Manila: Tropical Storm Nakri is anticipated to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) today, yet it is not expected to directly influence the country's weather conditions. According to Philippines News Agency, a forecaster from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Chenel Dominguez, stated that the storm is projected to remain at the northeastern boundary of PAR, minimizing its effect on the local weather. The cyclone, located 1,505 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon as of early morning, will be locally named Quedan upon entering PAR. Despite its anticipated entry, the weather across the Philippines will largely be influenced by the southwesterly windflow, which is expected to bring scattered rains and thunderstorms to the Visayas, Mindanao, Metro Manila, Mimaropa, Calabarzon, and Bicol Region. PAGASA has warned that these areas could experience moderate to heavy rains, raising the risk of flash floods or landslides. Meanwhile, the res t of Luzon may see isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms. Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate sea conditions are expected to persist across the archipelago.
