DAR Forum Links Farmers to Financing, Technology, Markets

Quezon city: The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has made a commitment to enhance the connections between agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) and ARB organizations (ARBOs) by offering them access to financing, technology, and markets.

According to Philippines News Agency, the DAR is also reinforcing its collaboration with private stakeholders to directly connect small farmers to its services. DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III emphasized the goal of promoting inclusive agricultural development and building a resilient, competitive, and equitable agricultural sector during a forum held in Quezon City.

Key partners at the event included the Land Bank of the Philippines, Go Negosyo, and Gothong Southern, Inc., each offering initiatives aimed at strengthening farmers' livelihoods. LandBank highlighted its affordable credit programs for ARBs, such as the Enhanced ARISE Program for post-calamity recovery, AGRISENSO Plus for simplified loans with free insurance, and the ALERT-ARBOs loan program for timely financing of ARBO projects.

Go Negosyo presented market-driven agribusiness models, including cluster farming, joint ventures, and fair land lease arrangements. Additionally, they offer mentorship through the Kapatid Mentor Me Program and connections to large agribusiness companies for capital, facilities, and market access.

Gothong Southern committed to providing nationwide logistics support, enabling ARBOs to efficiently distribute products to a broader range of consumers.
