Davao Oro LGU Simplifies Business Permit Process, Approval

Mawab: The local government unit (LGU) of Mawab, Davao de Oro has reaffirmed its commitment to support local business owners by streamlining permit and approval processes to create a more business-friendly environment. Mayor Myrill Apit, in a phone interview on Tuesday, said the initiative is designed to encourage entrepreneurship, boost economic growth, and generate employment opportunities for residents.

According to Philippines News Agency, Mayor Apit stated that the municipality has instructed concerned offices to streamline procedures, reduce delays, and provide clear guidance to applicants. The LGU aims to make it easier for business owners to invest and operate in Mawab. She emphasized the importance of keeping operations legal and compliant with both local and national regulations, ensuring fairness and accountability alongside improved services.

The municipal government is developing capacity-building and support programs to aid micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in meeting requirements and establishing sustainable operations. These efforts underscore Mawab's dedication to enhancing local commerce while ensuring that growth is rooted in safety, compliance, and equal opportunity.

Mayor Apit highlighted the municipality's support for legitimate businesses, warning that those ignoring legal requirements might face consequences, including potential closure. Mawab hosts a growing number of businesses focused on agriculture, including bananas and coconuts, as well as local trade, with many small shops and service providers catering to residents.
