Doha: The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported that no Filipinos were directly impacted by the recent Israeli airstrike in Doha, Qatar, which targeted senior Hamas leaders.
According to Philippines News Agency, the DFA received information from the Philippine Embassy in Doha indicating that no Filipino nationals were affected by the incident. The Embassy is actively monitoring the situation and checking on the welfare of Filipinos in the area.
The DFA emphasized the importance of staying informed by following credible news sources and advised Filipinos in Doha to remain calm and follow local authorities' guidelines. The Embassy also urged nationals to stay indoors and only venture into public spaces if necessary.
Qatar, which is playing a role in mediating talks between Israel and Hamas, condemned the airstrike as 'cowardly.' The Qatari government confirmed that the attack resulted in the death of one Qatari security official and injuries to other security personnel.
