Manila: The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is preparing to launch the Presidential Action Center (PAC) on the eGovPH mobile application, aiming to create a "one-stop shop" for accessing various government services.
According to Philippines News Agency, DICT Undersecretary David Almirol Jr. announced during an interview on 'Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon' on PTV that the PAC is expected to be launched in the coming weeks. This initiative will consolidate several government services, allowing citizens to access them within a single location. Almirol mentioned that the PAC will provide access to services from the Social Security System (SSS), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Pag-IBIG, Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Land Transportation Office (LTO), Philippine National Police (PNP), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and other government agencies.
Additional services available through the PAC include scheduling online passport appointments with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and requesting a national ID. To utilize the PAC's services, users must register on the eGovPH app, where they can access the PAC feature for automatic verification. Once verified, users will receive a QR code to present at the PAC office in San Juan City.
Almirol highlighted that the PAC offers a unique opportunity by bringing various services under one roof, describing it as a physical one-stop shop. Additionally, the PAC will provide medical, funeral, and other financial assistance through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Health (DOH), and other relevant agencies. For instance, users can request financial assistance for hospital bills or medicine via the eGovPH app, receive a QR code, and then obtain assistance at the PAC.
Certain services, such as medical or funeral assistance, will require documentary evidence like a medical certificate or death certificate. Moreover, legal assistance will be available through the Public Attorney's Office (PAO).
Almirol emphasized the PAC's role in offering not only government services but also public services. He encouraged citizens to support the initiative by downloading the eGovPH super app for registration, which simplifies the process by reducing the need for repetitive paperwork.
