Manila: The Department of Energy (DOE) has announced an extension for the submission deadline of 2025 compliance reports for Designated Establishments (DEs) to May 15. This decision aligns with the declaration of a national energy emergency.

According to Philippines News Agency, the extension applies to the Annual Energy Utilization Report (AEUR), the Annual Energy Efficiency and Conservation Report (AEECR), and, where applicable, the Energy Audit Reports (EARs). All submissions are required to be made through the DE Online Submission Portal, as off-portal submissions will be deemed invalid. This measure is to ensure precise data collection and comprehensive monitoring across the system.

The DOE emphasized that, in light of global supply pressures, the extension aims to guarantee the collection of reliable and high-quality energy data. This data is crucial for guiding policies, optimizing energy consumption, and reinforcing conservation efforts within the emergency framework. The DOE also reminded Designated Establishments of their obligation to continue submitting monthly Energy Efficiency and Conservation (EEC) implementation reports in compliance with DOE requirements.

The President highlighted the ongoing conflict in the Middle East as a significant factor posing a threat to global oil production and transportation, which has implications for the Philippines as a net importer of petroleum products.
