Manila: The Department of Justice (DOJ) stated that it has yet to receive a copy of the alleged arrest warrant issued against Sen. Ronald dela Rosa by the International Criminal Court (ICC). The DOJ emphasized that it is premature to discuss the matter due to the lack of certainty regarding the existence of such a warrant.

According to Philippines News Agency, DOJ spokesperson Polo Martinez conveyed in a message to reporters that discussing the issue is speculative at this point as no warrant has been confirmed. Martinez reiterated that the DOJ has not received any alleged warrant and assured that any actions taken would align with both domestic and international law.

The speculation arose after former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque announced over the weekend that the ICC had issued a warrant related to crimes against humanity charges allegedly committed during the Duterte administration's war on drugs. Prosecutor General Richard Fadullon expressed skepticism about Roque's claim, noting the absence of any received or seen copies of the warrant. Fadullon further questioned Roque's basis for his statement, doubting that Roque possessed a copy of the warrant, as he would not typically be among those furnished with it.
