Manila: House Speaker Faustino 'Bojie' G. Dy III urged graduates of Isabela State University (ISU) to develop critical thinking and the ability to discern truth from misinformation, saying these remain irreplaceable even as artificial intelligence (AI) transforms the way people learn, work, and live.

According to Philippines News Agency, in his commencement message to the ISU Batch 2026, delivered by Isabela Vice Gov. Francis Faustino 'Kiko' Dy, the Speaker emphasized the importance of lifelong learning amidst rapid advancements in AI. Dy highlighted that while AI is revolutionizing various aspects of life, wisdom, sound judgment, and integrity are qualities that technology cannot replicate. He urged graduates never to forget the irreplaceable skill of thinking critically and independently.

Dy articulated that while technology can provide answers, it is wisdom that guides trust in those answers. He posed a critical question about whether society is adequately preparing young Filipinos for a future dominated by AI. Furthermore, he underscored the ongoing efforts of the House of Representatives to enhance the education system in the Philippines, ensuring it equips students for a rapidly evolving world.

The initiatives mentioned by Dy included strengthening government assistance and subsidies to students and teachers in private education, the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Program, and the proposed Presidential Merit Scholarship Program. He also spoke about efforts towards teacher professionalization and the construction of additional classrooms, framing these as investments in future Filipino generations poised to drive national progress.
