Albay: The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA): Warm winds from the Pacific, locally known as easterlies, will continue to affect most parts of the country on Sunday, bringing scattered rains and thunderstorms.
According to Philippines News Agency, PAGASA's 24-hour forecast indicated that the Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Sorsogon, Masbate, Palawan, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Basilan will experience cloudy skies accompanied by scattered rains and thunderstorms. These weather conditions may trigger flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also caused by easterlies. Easterlies refer to warm and humid winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, which bring moisture and can lead to sudden rain showers, especially in the afternoon or evening. It is expected to affect the country over the next two to three days, as stated by the weather bureau.
PAGASA warned that severe thunderstorms may result in localized flooding or landslides. Winds across the country will be light to moderate, with coastal waters remaining slight to moderate and wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 1.8 meters.
