Free Meds via PhilHealth’s ‘GAMOT’ Now Accessible in Nine Antique Pharmacies

Antique: Nine pharmacies in Antique have been accredited by the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) to provide medications through the Guaranteed and Accessible Medication for Outpatient Treatment (GAMOT) program. This initiative is part of the broader Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP).

According to Philippines News Agency, two pharmacies, LNF Pharmacy in San Remigio and Madeleine Pharmacy in Pandan, have recently joined the list of accredited providers, with LNF Pharmacy beginning its services on June 18 and Madeleine Pharmacy following on June 19. Other accredited pharmacies include San Vicente Pharmacy, Essentiales Pharmacy, Barbaza Rural Health Unit and Birthing Center, Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital, Aptek Pharmacy, M and E Loriega, and the pharmacy at Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital.

PhilHealth Social Insurance Assistant 1, Liza Joyce Songcayawon, expressed satisfaction with the growing number of pharmacies seeking accreditation under the GAMOT program, emphasizing the benefit for YAKAP members who require essential medications. Additionally, a new pharmacy in Patnongon is set for its live testing, potentially expanding the network of providers.

Under the GAMOT program, accredited pharmacies can dispense up to PHP20,000 worth of medicines annually to registered members. Songcayawon urged PhilHealth members to register for YAKAP to access services from 18 accredited rural health units and eight district hospitals in the province. Members can obtain medications from GAMOT providers if these are unavailable at YAKAP facilities.
