Naga city: The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) reported on Thursday the arrest of a high-value individual and the seizure of 205 grams of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Naga City, Camarines Sur.
According to Philippines News Agency, PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Erosito Miranda identified the suspect as Macky, 35, a resident of Naga City. Recovered from the suspect's possession were 28 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, with an estimated total standard drug price of PHP1.39 million.
"Through intelligence-driven operations, strengthened inter-agency collaboration, and strict adherence to legal procedures, we will continue to dismantle drug networks that threaten the safety and well-being of our communities. We remain resolute in ensuring that the Bicol Region is a safer place for everyone," he said in a statement.
The suspect was informed of the nature and cause of his arrest and was apprised of his constitutional rights in a language and dialect known and understood by him, in full compliance with established legal procedures.
The buy-bust item was promptly marked at the place of arrest, while all confiscated illegal drugs and other non-drug evidence were properly inventoried and photographed in the presence of the required insulating witnesses, in accordance with the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and its implementing rules and regulations, thereby ensuring the integrity and evidentiary value of the seized items.
The arrested suspect and all recovered evidence were brought to the appropriate authorities for proper disposition and the filing of corresponding criminal charges for violation of RA 9165.
