House Speaker Dy Emphasizes Commitment to Duties Amid Investigations

Manila: House of Representatives Speaker Faustino 'Bojie' Dy III affirmed that they remain focused on their constitutional responsibilities to the Filipino people even as the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) and the Department of Public Works and Highways filed a new joint case referral before the Office of the Ombudsman against some members.

According to Philippines News Agency, Dy stressed that accountability is part of public service and no inquiry will distract the institution from its mandate. He emphasized that regardless of ongoing investigations, the House of Representatives is dedicated to serving the nation and upholding its duties. Dy assured that all members, whether under investigation or not, are prepared to cooperate with the investigative processes while continuing their legislative responsibilities.

Dy stated, "Whatever happens, the House of Representatives remains focused on its duties to serve the people. Accountability is part of public service, and all members - being investigated or not - are ready to cooperate with any process while continuing to perform their responsibilities as lawmakers."

He reiterated that the welfare of the Filipino people is the primary priority, and the House will do everything necessary to serve the public with integrity. Dy emphasized that from the start of his leadership, the House has been committed to fully respecting and cooperating with the ICI. This cooperation is grounded in the belief that truth and accountability are essential and must not be compromised.
