Manila: Housing stakeholders have been commended for their support in the fight against corruption, as two significant organizations publicly endorsed the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development's (DHSUD) commitment to transparent governance.
According to Philippines News Agency, the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA) and the DHSUD Employees Association (DHSUDEA) have pledged their support to DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling's campaign against corruption. SHDA, one of the country's four major developers' groups, emphasized the importance of integrity, transparency, and accountability in collaboration with the government to address the nation's housing needs. The association highlighted its belief in not just building homes but also fostering trust and a better future for all Filipinos.
DHSUDEA, under the leadership of Roel Fernandez, echoed these sentiments by expressing full support for Secretary Aliling's determined stance against corruption across all housing sectors, both governmental and private. The association underscored its commitment to uphold moral standards and emphasized that the support represents a collective pledge of honesty and integrity from DHSUD employees.
The expression of support from SHDA and DHSUDEA comes on the heels of a similar declaration by the Construction Project Management Association of the Philippines (CPMAP), which also backed Aliling's anti-corruption advocacy. CPMAP lauded Aliling's direct approach to combating corruption, describing it as an inspiration and a beacon of hope for the nation.
In a recent news release, Secretary Aliling called upon the public to join hands with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in the fight against corruption, starting with the housing sector. He urged the public to remain hopeful and demonstrate that corruption can indeed be overcome.
