Iligan City Celebrates National Women’s Month with Free Services

Iligan City: Iligan City will offer free services in celebration of National Women's Month.

According to Philippines News Agency, the services include legal advice, psychosocial support, and mental health support, as stated by Al-Azenereeh Madale, head of the Iligan Gender and Development Office. "We will also provide cervical cancer screenings," Madale said. "These services will be provided as part of our 'Babae ka, Asenso Caravan.'"

The Iligan City government will also launch the "Babae ka Purple E-Card," which will be available to all women and grants holders a 2 percent discount on basic commodities. Madale mentioned that the e-cards are part of the city's digitalization efforts.

Meanwhile, Rep. Celso Regencia commended the role of women police officers. "They are not only enforcers of the rule of law, but also pillars of strength," said Regencia, a former Iligan City Police Office director.
