Manila: The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has acknowledged importers and exporters in the country for their continued commitment to customs compliance and responsible trade practices. In a statement on Thursday, Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno expressed his sincere appreciation to the private companies and other stakeholders for their contribution to the bureau's strong revenue performance and the achievement of its trade facilitation goals during the first half of 2026.

According to Philippines News Agency, from January to June 2026, the BOC collected PHP491.748 billion, exceeding its target by PHP11.478 billion, or 2.4 percent. Commissioner Nepomuceno attributed this achievement to the collective efforts of the agency and the trading community in promoting compliance, facilitating the efficient movement of legitimate trade, and supporting the government's economic objectives under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

He also recognized the invaluable role of compliant importers, exporters, and other stakeholders in achieving this milestone. 'This achievement is not the Bureau of Customs' alone-it is a shared milestone made possible by every importer, exporter, and stakeholder who continues to comply with our laws and partner with us in good faith. Your trust, cooperation, and commitment to responsible trade play a vital role in keeping goods moving, supporting businesses, creating opportunities, and driving economic growth,' he said.

'We sincerely thank you for being our partners in this journey. Together, we are building a customs service that is more efficient, transparent, and responsive to the needs of trade-one that strengthens the country's competitiveness and contributes to a stronger future for all Filipinos,' he added.

Nepomuceno stated that the BOC remains committed to working closely with the trading community to facilitate legitimate trade, safeguard government revenues, and advance its modernization initiatives.
