Baku: The Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) delivered its message of peace and understanding during the National Rally for Peace held at Sawangan Park here Monday. In an interview, Brother Eric Zaratan, INC-Albay supervising minister, said they support President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s commitment to address the needs of the people.
According to Philippines News Agency, Zaratan emphasized the Church's alignment with the President's stance on prioritizing national needs. He stated, "The Church agrees with the President's statement that we should prioritize the needs of our nation. Trouble and disputes should not arise. Instead, we must focus on the pressing issues at hand. It's not just the Church. All of us want what is best for our country," he said in Filipino.
Zaratan also expressed gratitude to the local government unit of Legazpi and the Philippine National Police-Bicol for ensuring the safety and security of the participants. He highlighted the peaceful conclusion of the rally, attributing its success to organized and systematic planning. "The Iglesia is very grateful for the support we received, which helped make this event successful and orderly," Zaratan said.
In a separate interview, Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) Director Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon congratulated the INC members for the successful execution of the National Rally for Peace. "This demonstrates that they are disciplined and responsible citizens," he said. Dizon reported that over 30,000 INC members from Albay, Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Sorsogon, and Masbate participated. "The traffic management, crowd control and overall security operations were well-executed," he said.
