Baguio: The John Hay Management Corp. (JHMC) is stepping up efforts to attract more visitors and investors to Camp John Hay as it aims to increase revenue and sustain its contribution to government coffers.
According to Philippines News Agency, JHMC President and Chief Executive Officer Manjit Singh Reandi said the agency is focused on increasing the number of locators and improving foot traffic inside the camp. "One of our initiatives is to increase the number of locators and foot traffic here to boost economic activity, which will also increase our income," Reandi stated.
JHMC, a government-owned and controlled corporation under the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), remitted PHP11.51 million in dividends to the national treasury in 2025. Reandi emphasized the company's commitment to increasing its income and contributing more to national government programs, including projects for classrooms, housing, and farm-to-market roads.
He highlighted that improved public spaces and new attractions have helped increase visitor arrivals at Camp John Hay. Foot traffic reached 800,000 in January 2026, up from 500,000 during the same month in 2025. It also increased to 600,000 in February and March 2026, compared with 500,000 in the same months last year, based on JHMC data.
Reandi noted that the increase in visitors has also benefited businesses inside the camp, including restaurants, hotels, and the golf club, which has opened its facilities to the public. New attractions such as Ayuyang Park, Tranquility Park, bazaars, and other shared spaces have contributed to higher visitor turnout, he added.
The agency has seen growing interest from local, national, and foreign companies seeking to invest in Camp John Hay, Reandi said. He also pointed out that the camp's favorable climate and air quality remain among its key attractions as JHMC continues efforts to preserve its environment.
