Laguna Governor Suspends Classes Province-Wide as Tropical Depression Mirasol Looms

Laguna: Laguna Governor Sol Aragones has mobilized relief operations for flood-stricken families in Bi±an City and ordered the suspension of classes in all levels across the province on Wednesday as Tropical Depression Mirasol approaches.

According to Philippines News Agency, Provincial Information Officer Danilo Lucas announced that the Akay ni Gob Action Center has delivered assistance to 311 families staying in evacuation centers in Barangay Dela Paz, under the care of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).

Relief operations have also reached Barangay Malaban, where 96 families have been displaced for nearly a month. Many evacuees, including children and pregnant women, are suffering from illnesses due to prolonged flooding. Lucas stated that the governor instructed her staff on Tuesday night to pack relief goods, monitor flooded areas and evacuation centers, while suspending classes across the province 'to ensure safety and preparedness.'

'As floodwaters from previous weather disturbances continue to affect Bi±an, Gov. Aragones' proactive response, relief distribution, and community monitoring remain top priorities to safeguard every Lagunense family,' Lucas said.
