Laguna: Governor Sol Aragones has reopened the provincial government's medical and burial assistance program for indigent residents by activating seven new "Akay ni Gob Action Centers" throughout the province.
According to Philippines News Agency, the initiative, in collaboration with the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), is designed to make social services more accessible by establishing specific locations for the submission and processing of aid requests. The newly operational centers are strategically located in San Pedro City (1st District), Cabuyao City (2nd District), San Pablo City (3rd District), Santa Cruz town (Laguna's capital, 4th District), Bi±an City (Lone District), Santa Rosa City (Lone District), and Calamba City (Lone District).
Governor Aragones, during her visit, emphasized the critical role these centers play in expediting the approval and disbursement of support applications. She also unveiled plans to establish additional centers to cater to the 4th District's 13 other municipalities beyond Santa Cruz, as well as the 2nd District towns of Los Ba±os and Bay. 'We are committed to bringing government services closer to our communities, especially those in greatest need,' she stated in an interview.
For residents seeking medical assistance, the required documents include a Certificate of Indigency from their barangay, a valid ID of the beneficiary, a medical certificate or clinical abstract, and the final hospital bill. For those applying for burial assistance, the necessary documents are a Certificate of Indigency, a valid ID, a Death Certificate, and a Funeral Contract. The "Akay ni Gob Action Centers" will facilitate the processing and distribution of the approved aid to the eligible beneficiaries.
