Manila: A huge part of Luzon will experience rains caused by a low pressure area (LPA) and the easterlies, the weather bureau said Wednesday. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) indicated that the LPA, located over the coastal waters of Rapu-Rapu, Albay as of 3 a.m., is unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone within 24 hours.

According to Philippines News Agency, the LPA will cause scattered rains and thunderstorms across Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Romblon, and Marinduque. Scattered rains and thunderstorms will also prevail across Cagayan and Isabela due to the easterlies. These regions may experience moderate to heavy rains, raising concerns about potential flash floods or landslides.

The rest of the country will be affected by isolated rain showers caused by the easterlies and localized thunderstorms. Severe thunderstorms could also lead to flash floods or landslides. Meanwhile, PAGASA noted that light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail throughout the archipelago.
