LPA and Easterlies to Bring Rain Showers Across Luzon

Manila: Parts of the country, especially Luzon, will experience rain showers caused by a low pressure area (LPA) and the easterlies, the weather bureau said Tuesday. The LPA, located over the coastal waters of Corcuera, Romblon as of 3 a.m., is unlikely to develop into a tropical depression within 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 4 a.m. bulletin.

According to Philippines News Agency, the LPA will cause scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, and Bulacan. The easterlies will likewise cause scattered rains and thunderstorms over Isabela, Quirino, and Aurora. Moderate to heavy rains in these areas could result in flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, isolated rain showers caused by the easterlies and localized thunderstorms will continue to prevail over the rest of the country. Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters still prevail across the archipelago, PAGASA said.
