Madis and Aludo Advance to ITF J30 Manila 2 Semifinals

Manila: Philippine Tennis Academy players Tennielle Madis and Stefi Marithe Aludo have advanced to the girls' singles semifinals at the ITF J30 Manila 2, held at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center hardcourt.

According to Philippines News Agency, the top-seeded Madis defeated Singapore's No. 6 seed Emma Lam Singh Maan with a decisive 6-1, 6-0 victory. This win sets Madis up for a semifinal clash against No. 5 seed Gyuree Nam of South Korea, who overcame No. 4 seed Pimlaphat Lim of Thailand with a 6-4, 6-3 result.

On the other side, No. 2 seed Aludo emerged victorious over fellow Filipino player Jana Jelena Nicole Diaz, winning 6-3, 6-2. Aludo will face No. 3 seed Seojin Park of South Korea in the semifinals, after Park defeated No. 7 seed Paweenon Nualsri of Thailand 6-1, 6-1.

In doubles action, Madis and Aludo, who are preparing for the Southeast Asian Games, overpowered third-seeded duo Lim and Nualsri with a 6-4, 6-2 victory to secure a place in the finals. They will compete against second seeds Nam and Park, who eliminated the fourth-seeded pair Pei-Hsuan Chi and Yishan Xu of Chinese Taipei with a 6-1, 6-2 score.

In the boys' singles division, Japan's first-leg champion Aoi Ishizaki defeated compatriot Shun Munetoh 6-3, 6-1, advancing to face Ruochen Gao of China in the semifinals. The second-seeded Gao made a comeback to defeat No. 6 seed Kuranosuke Suzuki of Japan 3-6, 6-1, 6-2.

Top seed Gyeom Do of South Korea claimed victory over Japan's Lyoma Hotelier 7-6 (6), 6-4, leading to a semifinal against No. 5 seed Kango Endoh of Japan, who beat No. 4 seed Napal Pattanalertphan of Thailand 6-1, 6-0.

In boys' doubles, top seeds Do and Gao defeated Hotelier and Munetoh 7-6 (2), 6-3, setting up a championship match against No. 2 seeds Ariyaphol Leekul and Pattanalertphan, who triumphed over the fourth-seeded pair Ishizaki and Endoh with a 3-6, 7-5, 11-9 victory.
